5th Anniversary of Heritage!
On a chilly weekend in December 2009, we celebrated the 5th anniversary of our opening with a magnificent owl display by a local company - Owls to you. The magnificence of these birds of prey was breath-taking. Seeing them so close, to touch and hold was indeed an honour and one that hundreds of you enjoyed that weekend!

Owls to You is a local breeder and company that specialise in educating their audience about the owls - their habitat, feeding and breeding characteristics. Their collection includes Snowys, Eagles, Tawnys, Wood Owls and White-Faced owls.

Bank Holiday Monday August 31 2009
The day was full of fun and suprises - with nearly 2000 of you enjoying the bank holiday sunshine, cream teas and refreshments on the lawn but best of all the Amazing Animals! Even Terrence (the dog) from Eastenders paid us a visit (see picture below). The penguins were the stars of the show with their waddles into the water for a cooling off but the fruit bats, porcupine, skunk, monkey and more were all incredibly popular and very well behaved! Hundreds of children had their faces painted (Huge thanks to Karin and Kelsie for their great work!) and enjoyed playing in the sand pit.
Next year we will have to host an even better day - but this will be hard to beat! |
